  • POSITION SUMMARY
    Amachris is looking for a Project Coordinator to join our dynamic team full-time. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the build-out of retail construction projects for key customers in the retail industry. This position is responsible for providing administrative and organizational support to Project Managers and also requires coordinating with site supervisors and subcontractors to ensure the successful execution and timely completion of projects.

    Typical work week: 40-45 hours

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work closely with the Project Manager to assist with retail construction projects for assigned accounts from pre-construction to completion

    • Coordinate schedules, communicate project progress, and assume administrative responsibility for multiple projects in varying phases

    • Assist the Project Manager with bids, tenders, quotes and other correspondence

    • Coordinate with site supervisors and subcontractors to ensure each phase of the build-out is completed successfully and on time

    • Maintaining excellent customer service for clients

    • Accounting functions, including cost file maintenance, change orders, billings and account reconciliation

    • Assist the Project Manager with overall project close-out, including document maintenance, deficiencies and warranty work

    • Comply with all Ministry of Labour health and safety policies and procedures

    • Other duties as required

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree or diploma in Architectural Technologies, Construction Project Management or a related discipline

    • Previous Project Management experience is an asset

    • Good understanding of building drawings and specifications

    • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills, along with exceptional time management and problem-solving skills

    • Good communication skills, both orally and written

    • Must demonstrate an ability to work in a team environment and maintain effective working relationships

    • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills- Willingness to travel, if/when required

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • POSITION SUMMARY
    Amachris is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the organization full-time. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Project Manager will be responsible for leading retail construction projects for key customers in the retail industry. This includes planning and working with clients, site supervisors and subcontractors to ensure the successful execution and timely completion of projects.

    Availability to travel on a project/account basis is required.

    Typical work week: 40-45 hours

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Managing retail construction projects for assigned accounts from pre-construction to completion including bidding/estimating, project planning, scheduling and work progress

    • Prepare tender packages, including scope of work for all trades

    • Managing and coordinating with site supervisors, subcontractors, engineers and architects to ensure each phase of the build-out is completed successfully and on time

    • Maintaining excellent customer service for clients

    • Maintaining excellent customer service for clients

    • Responsible for proactive leadership of all support personnel including Project Coordinators

    • Assisting the Managing Director with business development initiatives and strategies

    • Accounting functions, including issuing purchase orders, cost file maintenance, managing change orders, billings and account reconciliation

    • Managing overall project closeout including document maintenance, deficiencies and warranty work

    • Implement and comply with all Ministry of Labour health and safety policies and procedures

    • Other duties as required

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3-5 years of experience in the retail construction industry

    • Education required: a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (i.e. Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering) and/or Project Management certification

    • Excellent understanding of building drawings, codes and site specifications

    • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills, along with exceptional time management and problem-solving skills

    • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written

    • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and team members at all levels in the organization

    • Willingness to travel if/when required

    • Basic understanding of AutoCad is an asset

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
